Leaving your property

The "Notice Requiring Possession" that you will have received is the first stage in the Unipol procedure that brings tenancies to a close. The Notice is a formal legal document that closes your current tenancy on the date specified in the agreement that you signed.

If you have signed a new agreement for a further period of time the Notice formally moves you from the old agreement to the new one. If you intend to stay in the property beyond the date specified and you have not signed a new agreement please contact your Housing Management Officer as soon as possible.

It is helpful to Unipol if we are aware if you intend to leave your property early. This is especially helpful if a whole property will be vacated because it allows Unipol to make sure the property remains secure. Although you will still be liable for the rent until the end of your tenancy, it may be possible to return your deposit earlier than that date if we know you are leaving early.
