The Development
Argie Avenue is a development which has been converted in 2001 and 2003, especially for students with dependants from either of the two Universities or colleges in Leeds. There are 63 three bedroom maisonette style flats, each flat being over two floors (ground and first floor or second and third floor with access from a covered walkway).
There are four buildings (each comprising 12 flats) on one side of Argie Avenue, with grassed and planted garden areas to the rear of the buildings. There is a perimeter fence to the garden and a childrens play area which can only be accessed by tenants. On the opposite side of the road there are a further 15 flats which were renovated in November 2003. These are surrounded by a large grassed communal area which families are able to use.
The development is managed by Unipol Student Homes and the flats are advertised through our website and emailed to those on our family email list. The flats are very popular and there is usually a high demand for every vacancy.
Facilities
The flats have been renovated to a high standard including the fitting of energy efficient gas fired central heating systems, double glazed windows, well designed kitchens and modern bathrooms with showers. Each flat has a kitchen and living room on the lower floor, and three bedrooms (on with balcony), bathroom and separate W.C. on the floor above.
Telephone, TV and satellite
Telephone sockets (subject to reconnection to the network at the tenants' expense) are fitted in each flat and television aerial sockets are provided in the lounge. There is an integrated digital satellite reception system (Eutalsat and Astra) in the four original buildings and Astra (for Sky) in the new buildings over the road. Tenants are not permitted to fit their own satellite dishes or aerials on the building.
Parking
There is a car park and a permit system operates. Tenants are allocated a designated space where possible.
