Carlton Hill was built on the site of a former school in the city centre of Leeds. The development consists of self contained flats and town houses, each with their own front door.
The flats have been built to a high standard including the fitting of energy efficient gas fired central heating systems, insulation, double glazing, well designed kitchens and modern bathrooms with showers. Each flat and house have soft furnished living rooms with dining areas, adjacent to the kitchen.
The flats are surrounded by a perimeter fence with controlled access to the site for vehicles. CCTV is used in the external areas of the site, which can be monitored through tenant's own television sets in addition to being recorded at a central station.
The development is managed by Unipol Student Homes and the flats are allocated by Leeds Metropolitan University Accommodation Office. Some flats are available for students to stay for the next academic year.
Two ground floor four bedroomed shared flats are accessible for students in wheelchairs. Bathrooms are adapted to include a seat shower wet room. Kitchen facilities are not height adapted so may not be suitable for some. If you have special accommodation needs and would like to discuss your specific requirements with Unipol, please contact S.McDonald@unipol.leeds.ac.uk

TV, Telephone and Internet
Telephone sockets (subject to reconnection to the network at the tenants' expense) are fitted in each bedroom and one in the communal lounge. Television aerial sockets are provided in the lounge and bedrooms which can also receive digital satellite television (subject to a connection charge and subscription with a provider). There is no cable television to the building
There is also an fully supported internet service provided at an additional cost. You can find more information on prices and system requirements here.
Parking
There is a car park and a permit system operates (for an annual charge). Demand for spaces often outstrips the supply available. A large cycle store is provided at the centre of the site.
