Drop in and Support Services through Unipol
All of these services are available free of charge to students in Leeds
You can either drop in or make an appointment by phoning 0113 2430169 (option1), e-mailing info@unipol.leeds.ac.uk or calling into the Unipol Accommodation Bureau at 155/157 Woodhouse Lane (between the University of Leeds and Leeds Met University City Quarter). Simply go to the Bureau counter and ask to use the relevant service. All the services are organised through the Accommodation Bureau and confidential meeting rooms are available.
Unipol Code
The Accreditation Officer is available to help any student who is having problems who lives in a property covered by the Code of Standards, or the Code for Larger Developments.
If you live in a Code of Standards property, and feel that your landlord is not meeting their requirements then the Code Officer can intervene and, if necessary, can help you lodge a complaint and deal with that under the Code.

Legal Advice
Is provided by Godloves Solicitors, a respected firm of solicitors in Leeds which provides a wide range of legal services and has a specialist housing law department which deals with all landlord and tenant problems, including:
- harassment by your landlord
- anti social behaviour issues
- repair problems
- return of deposits
- unsuitable accommodation
- contractual issues
- any problems relating to your tenancy or housing law
The experienced housing litigation team at Godloves will be able to give you the advice and support you need. You can meet them at no cost and with no obligations. Godloves holds a franchise from the LegalServices Commission and can also provide help under the Commission’s Legal Help Scheme.
Please note: these sessions have to be booked in advance and run from 2pm to 4pm each Wednesday. You will be contacted the day before to confirm your attendance and if not enough appointments are confirmed the solicitor may conduct the appointment by telephone rather than in person.

Victim Support
Victim support consists of trained volunteers who can offer confidential support and information to victims of crime and anti social behaviour. Victim support also runs the Witness Service from every criminal court in West Yorkshire, providing victims and witnesses with emotional support and practical information about court proceedings.
Victim Support can provide:
- someone to talk to
- information on police and court proceedings
- help with compensation and insurance crime prevention
- information contact with other local organisations
