Unipol Owners Briefing 2009
54 landlords attended the Market Briefing for Owners in Nottingham which took place on Monday 30th November 2009 at Nottingham Trent University.
The briefing began with an update from the Nottingham Bureau Manager, Guy Welton, which included information on registration for the 2010 lettings season and services on offer for landlords in Nottingham for this lettings year.
There followed a demonstration of a new system which will be launched on January 4th 2010 where Unipol DASH Code owners can protect deposits through a specially developed scheme between Unipol and The Dispute Service (TDS). TDS are the largest provider of deposit protection services and the insurance based scheme will be available to owners for £14 plus VAT per tenancy. More details will be available shortly and owners will receive an e-mail on the launch date which includes a guide to using the system.
The Market Briefing then followed, delivered by Martin Blakey, Chief Executive which looked at the following key points:
- National Demand for Higher Education in the UK and how this affects the markets in Nottingham including a summary of intake for 2009
- Analysis of the overall supply in Nottingham and the relationship between large providers and off-street properties in terms of student demand
- Latest statistics of the use of the Unipol Nottingham website by students throughout the last two years
- Information on Nottingham City Council’s proposals to introduce additional licensing within the City
- The impact of accreditation and how it is affecting how quickly properties let in Nottingham
- Information for landlords about the new partnership between Nottingham Trent University and Unipol
