Is your potential landlord part of the Unipol Code?

When you are looking at properties over the next few months do not forget to check to see if the property you are interested in is covered by the Unipol Code.

The Unipol Code covers a wide range of issues effecting a student tenancy from the tenancy agreement to health and safety to the fixtures, fittings and furnishings in the house. The Code also covers repair guidelines and there is a complaints process. For full details of what is in the Unipol Code, click here.  Hard copies of the Unipol Code are available from the Unipol Bureau.

If you are looking at a property that is with an agent and you cannot find the agency listed as a full member of the Unipol Code you should check the list of Supporters.  Supporters of the Unipol Code are actively encouraging landlords with them to meet the standards in the Code and will display properties covered by the code separately.  Find out about the scheme by clicking here.
