Tenants Give Unipol Top Rating
Each year Unipol carries out a survey of its tenants to find out how satisfied they are with their housing. We use the results to guide where we need to make improvements and discover what we are already doing well.
We are really pleased to say that this year we received our highest rating ever for overall satisfaction. On a scale of 1 - 8, with 1 being poor and 8 being excellent, our tenants rated their overall satisfaction with their accommodation at 6.57. Unipol has a very diverse range of properties from purpose built developments for 450 tenants right through to small back-to-back houses for couples, and we think this rating shows that our tenants are generally very satisfied with thier accommodation.
But there were areas that our tenants said we could improve:
- Some tenants had difficulty finding their development at the start of the year, so we have started using yellow AA signs to direct people.
- Tenants who lived in our smaller properties had some issues with key collection from the office. We have now made sure enough staff are available at key periods and over lunchtime.
- Some tenants at Carlton Hill felt security could be improved, so we have fitted security grilles on ground floor windows.
- Bedroom lighting at Mill Street was criticised, so we have fitted over 125 new light fittings.
- There was some concern about energy costs in developments, so we have fitted heating instructions and information about energy supplements in all relevant developments.
- The bathrooms at Garden House have been refurbished this summer following feedback that they needed some work.
- Lots of tenants at Grayson Heights are international students who often arrive during the night. We have tried to improve their welcome by providing some food and drink for late arrivals and making sure bedding packs are ready to collect.
- A full heating and window survey was conducted at Carlton Hill, and some windows were replaced as a result.
- Desk lamps have been fitted at Grayson Heights in shared student flats.
There are a few things we still need to get finished too:
- We’re going to continue our programme of replacing older cookers and fridge/freezers.
- We are looking at properties that need replacement curtains.
- We are reviewing the CCTV at Carlton Hill and will be making improvements in Autumn 2011.
So thanks for your input. We wanted our tenants to know what we do listen and the time you spent completing the survey was time well spent.
The next tenant’s survey will be taking place in Winter 2011, so please take part and let us know your views.
