Unipol DASH Code for Shared Student Housing.
Unipol has worked hard with landlords, students' unions, both universities (Nottingham Trent University and the University of Nottingham) and the Councils to put together a new Code for student housing replacing the Greater Nottingham Accreditation Scheme for Students. The new Code was launched on the 1st August 2008. The Unipol DASH Code has a new logo and merchandise carrying this logo will be available to promote the Code during House Hunting 2009.
The new Code has greater emphasis on management standards and community matters as well as simplifying and clarifying the property standards required. If not all standards are met, Unipol will allow landlords to join the Code so long as it has agreed an action plan with the landlord/s on an agreed timescale. This is to allow landlords who are improving their properties within a reasonable period of time to join the Code.
The scheme has the approval of the University of Nottingham and the University of Nottingham Students Union, Nottingham Trent University and Nottingham Trent Students Union.
It is strongly in your interests to join the Code.
