House Hunting Events 2018

House hunting events explained

Every year, a proportion of students who are starting courses at institutions in Leeds or are already in the city look for accommodation let by private owners rather than by the institution where they will be studying.

Unipol works closely with the universities and colleges to organise house hunting mixing days so students can meet each other and look for properties together.

Although this can seem like a daunting prospect, we can support you and through a friendly environment help you make informed decisions about your choice of property and the people you will be living with.

We offer specific events for new to Leeds postgraduate and undergraduate students, international students and events for students already living in Leeds and open events that any student can attend (new or current).

Events for new International Students at the University of Leeds

These events are designed to assist newly arriving international students to find suitable accommodation.  Staff will be available to offer a personal service to participants from calling landlords to make viewing appointments to contract checking and finding flatmates.  This is a really useful event for all those students who particularly wish to live in the private rented sector (non-university provided accommodation).

Drop in sessions for current students in Leeds

We provide specialist help for students already studying in Leeds who are house hunting alone or looking for more students to share with.

These events are organised to help individual house hunters as well as groups. So if you don't necessarily want to form a group, you should still come along - staff will be on hand to give one-to-one assistance. If enough people attend together, then Unipol staff will help facilitate mixing to enable participants to look for houses together, if that is what they want to do.

Staff will help you search the web, contact landlords and arrange viewings.

Every Wednesday at 1.30pm. Drop in sessions are designed for individuals looking to rent an individual let in a shared house. Come to Unipol, 155/157 Woodhouse Lane, Leeds, no booking necessary, and staff will help you look at housing options and take you to view some properties

A great place to start your search
