Synopsis

Following the success of this conference in May 2017, we're delighted to be able to run it again in associaiton with MHFA England.

What is Mental Health First Aid?

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course, designed to teach people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis.

Adult MHFA England courses can be attended by people aged 16 upwards and are relevant for the general population.

Everyone on an Adult MHFA England course is taught a set of skills which enables them to support someone experiencing mental health issues.

Each and every MHFA England course is delivered by a quality assured instructor, who has attended the seven day instructor training programme accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health.

Please note:

It is important to note that active participation and group support is strongly encouraged throughout the course, as this is a key part of the skills learning process.

Due to the topics being discussed group sizes are strictly kept to a minimum of 16 to enable your MHFA England associate to maintain a safe and productive learning environment for everyone.

Unipol Student Homes are working together with MHFA England to provide this training for colleagues of the student accommodation sector. You will be taught a set of skills that will enable you to support students that may be experiencing mental health issues.

Everyone who attends the course will receive a copy of the MHFA England manual and workbook, which are both excellent support resources. When you have completed the course you will also receive a certificate to confirm that you are a trained Mental Health First Aider.
