Students were given an early access invitation to view the Unipol website two days before the launch of house hunting on 6th February 2017. The February tabloid and the updated House Hunting Guide has been delivered to students in Halls and off-street houses to help them make an informed choice of accommodation.
The story so far
The site remains busy with 4,997 property searches and 7,262 adverts viewed so far in 2017. Since the start of house hunting on 6th February up to the end of March there have been 1,661 visits with 1,168 being unique.
House hunting 2017 has started strongly, it is expected there will be a further surge in interest as student return following the Easter holidays and start looking for accommodation. It is likely that many students will search carry out housing searches prior to the end of the academic year with some waiting until they return before finding their next home. Going into the summer period there will be interest from International students who require accommodation.
Results are in from the student forum which was held in March and showed that nearly 48% of students questioned still hadn't started house hunting. 90% of students using the housing search facility had found it easy to use. 48% of students stated it was essential to have bills included in their rental package 56% of students surveyed noted it was important to have Wi-Fi included.
