Unipol Bradford Tenant Survey 2016 - the results are in
Every year Unipol conducts an independent Tenant Satisfaction Survey to gauge what our tenants really think of living in Unipol's own accommodation. This is a really important piece of work that spans across all of our stock, telling us what we’re doing well and, of course, what we need to do even better.
Overall satisfaction ratings with Unipol housing are high with 80% of our tenants rating their service as good or high.
Key to the results: In the survey we either measure satisfaction as a percentage or on a scale of 1 to 8 with 1 as worst and 8 as best.
Unipol has 59 tenants in Bradford living at Doris Birdsall Hall and 26 of them responded to the survey, a rate of 44%.
The welcome and moving in
Our tenants said they got a really friendly welcome (rating 7.4 out of 8) and that their flat was clean and in good repair when they moved in (rating 7.4 out of 8).
The social event
Unipol runs a free welcome social event for Doris Birdsall tenants and our tenants gave this a huge 7.9 out of 8 rating.
Satisfaction with facilities, amenities and security
Doris Birdsall Hall rated very well for facilities and features:
Decor in rooms 7.5 out of a maximum of 8
General character of the building 7.6 out of 8
Heating 7.6 out of 8
Building security 7.5 out of 8
Kitchen 7.6 out of 8
Washer/dryer 7.6 out of 8
Garden maintenance 6.5 out of 8
Unipol is really pleased that the tenants rate their accommodation at Doris Birdsall so highly.
Happiness and Homeliness
We ask our tenants whether their accommodation feels like home, whether its good value for money and whether they would recommend it to a friend:

Maintenance and Repair Satisfaction
Overall repair quality was rated at 7.6 out of 8, and the speed of maintenance staff at 7.4.
So what have we learned?
Key areas are highlighted:
Doris Birdsall Hall has just been refurbished in 2015 - 2016 and it is clear that the residents are really pleased with the new standard of accommodation on offer.
Unipol need to aim to maintain these high ratings next year
There is room to improve garden maintenance and appearance. Since the survey took place, Unipol has completely renovated the garden so hopefully this will improve for next year.
Changes are coming. Thanks to this survey, we’re able to pick up on tenants’ issues and help solve them.
