Benefits of joining Unipol
Unipol is a not for profit charity and is supported by the Students' Unions and University as the central point for students looking for housing in the private sector in Nottingham. We have a central office, located on the University of Nottingham, University Park Campus.
Unipol centralises all private sector vacancies on its website. All students at educational institutions in Nottingham have access to web facilities. The office also has a number of computer terminals for use by the public. Property owners are also free to use these facilities. The office provides help and assistance to students in finding houses and also can provide advice to property owners who join the Greater Nottingham Accommodation Accreditation Scheme.
Unipol's Web site is accessible to students from all over the world and is open 24 hours a day. The site helps the 30,000 students who will live in the private sector to find accommodation they want.
The service to owners is free until 31st July 2008 to display details of their property. You get a full colour entry on our Web site, together with a free external photograph taken of your property. With the online service for owners, owners can attach 5 additional internal photographs to each advert. Photographs of properties are an important part of the letting process. This idea of a ‘virtual tour’ of the property has become a very important part of how students select which properties to view. Unipol recommends that owners make full use of this facility.
All owners are sent a copy of their Web entry for checking and publicity purposes.
The adverts can link to your own website.
Further special services exist for private halls of residence (over 15 students in one building). The adverts you have will display in 3 categories when Students search - size of flat, individual lets and large developments page. Fees for this service are individually negotiated. If you would like to enquire on how to advertise your larger development please contact the bureau by email: info@unipol.nottingham.org.uk

The Unipol DASH Code (Formerly known as the Greater Nottingham Student Accommodation Scheme)
Unipol will be working closely with Nottingham City Council to review and revise the Greater Nottingham Student Accommodation Accreditation Scheme, now knoen as the Unipol DASH Code. During the first year of operation the scheme will operate in it's existing form, with the addition of a new complaints procedure. The students' unions and university advise their students to give preference to accredited properties.
Owners voluntarily join the scheme and agree to meet a minimum set of standards.
Accreditation is important to students as it plays an important part of the house selection process by students.
Accredited owners get a number of special services:
- Accredited properties are displayed ahead of other properties on the Web with a blue banding showing the accreditation logo;
- Invitations to special "accreditation only" events such as the annual briefing on market trends in accreditation
- Publicity and merchandise for you to distribute to your tenants
- Input into the owners consultative group
- The oppurtunity to advertise in the Unipol Tabloid. This advertising paper is ditributed to 30,000 students in key househunting periods
- the Accreditation Officer is happy to talk to, and advise, owners on accreditation matters.
Joining the Unipol DASH Code is free to landlords.
