Unipol's properties have all been converted with security in mind:

Unipol have an Out of Hours Call Centre, staffed by security officers who can take emergency calls from tenants throughout our portfolio and deploy mobile security patrols where necessary.

  • there is a burglar alarm in all properties where there is any ground floor occupancy
  • there are ground-floor net curtains in most properties to give more privacy during the day
  • ground-floor sash windows can be opened to a maximum of 4"
  • vulnerable first-floor windows are either restricted or have window locks fitted
  • all properties have secure mortice locks fitted to main exit doors
  • many complexes have door-entry/fob systems into communal stairwells
  • communal stairwells are well lit to deter intruders
  • external security lighting is provided where needed
  • garden maintenance takes into account the need to maintain visual lines leading up to a property to deter thefts
  • tenants are given information to increase safety awareness.
  • Unipol takes part in Campus Watch which operates throughout the universities and colleges in Leeds and with other large housing suppliers

Where a specific problem has been identified, individual properties have additional security. This may include CCTV systems, secure car parking, lockable gates and railings and high-security doors.
