Unipol launched the largest number of accredited bed spaces in one place for the students of Bradford on Monday 5th February. You are able to compare all types of properties in different areas and shortlist your favourites from the comfort of your sofa - our website is fully compatible with smartphones, tablets, laptop and desktops.

House Hunting Launch

Students were given an early access invitation to view the Unipol website two days before the launch of house hunting on 5th February 2018. The February tabloid has been delivered to students in Halls and off-street houses to help them make an informed choice of accommodation.

The story so far

The site went live on 5th February and is showing rooms available for the next academic year. Within the first 4 days of house hunting there were 776 searches carried out with 1,141 properties viewed on the website. Since the start of house hunting up until the 7th October there were 11,420 property searches carried out on the website with  26,558 individual adverts viewed.

As expected many students started house hunting later in the year. Clearing began in August along with A level results whilst international students are still receiving offers and travel visas and are still looking for accommodation. In September there were 1,146 housing carried out.

The website is fully compatible with all tech. In September nearly 40% of searches were carried out on a mobile phone and 6% were done on a tablet.

Social media promotions will be on-going throughout the year as will Unipol presence at College and University events & open days. 

A new student survey was carried out in May/June, some of the results are below The

  • Cost of accommodation was rated as ‘Very important’ by 47.8% of participants, with 32.6% deciding that cost was not important.

  • 73.9% of participants paid a deposit, 61.8% of these did not know who their deposit is protected with.

  • 47.8% of students said they live in accommodation covered by the Unipol Code, 13% said they didn’t, while 39.1% were unsure.

  • 15.2% of participants had not found accommodation for the next year. When asked when they will start looking the results were: Now (69.8%) July (6.5%), August (4.3%) and September (13%).
