Nottingham Trent University House Hunting Advice

30/08/2019

Congratulations on getting your place at University.  If you are reading this as a prospective new student attending Nottingham Trent University and you have not yet secured accommodation in Nottingham please see a number of links below to help and support you.

Unipol works with Nottingham Trent University (NTU) and advertises properties for many providers of accommodation in Nottingham.  This year has been particularly busy as NTU sees record numbers of students wanting to attend their University.  This has meant that accommodation options are tight.  There are still rooms available but these are likely to be in shared student houses.

Contact details for NTU Accommodation Team

If you are an incoming 1st year student and have submitted an application for accommodation you will have received an email from the NTU accommodation team on Friday 23rd August.  If the email received advised you to attend the house hunting event yesterday, although you will remain on the waiting list for accommodation it is strongly advised that you continue to look in the private rented sector for alternative accommodation as it is very unlikely that the university will be able to offer you a room in university accommodation.

NTU are no longer accepting new applications for accommodation for the 2019 entry year.

If you would like information on your application you can ring the NTU team on 0115 848 2894 between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday.

There are a number of ways that you can search for accommodation

1.  Use the Unipol website - We have a small number of rooms available so please use our property search and contact landlords through the contact details information displayed on each advert.

Anything with the Thumbs up Code logo is accredited.  Find out about the Unipol Code

2. Use the Student Noticeboard.  At the moment this is a really good option given the small number of rooms now available through the main website.  Other students are advertising rooms available and you can contact the student directly for more information. Select 'Nottingham' as your city at the following link - Post on the Student Noticeboard

3. Read the House Hunting Guide.  This will give you an A-Z insight in to looking for accommodation in Nottingham. House Hunting Guide

4. Look at other accommdation portals.  There is possibly some accommodation available through other providers not advertising with Unipol.  If you are renting through other providers do check that they have the appropriate license for the property that is issued through the Council and/or that the provider is accredited through Unipol.

Good Luck and we hope that you enjoy your year in Nottingham
