Familiarise yourself with the Unipol Code and take our quiz below...

Competition ends 11th November 2022.

The Unipol Code is an accreditation scheme that seeks to raise standards in student housing. Landlords voluntarily join the Code and provide a service that goes beyond what is required by law.

Unipol Code landlords offer good customer service, safer physical conditions and must adhere to a reasonable set of repair timescales. In most cases, tenants are happy in Unipol Code homes however, if any issues do arise, Unipol will act as a middle-man to help resolve tenant and landlord disputes.

To ensure Code properties are fully compliant, Unipol inspect a percentage (usually 1 in 5) of the landlords properties on a three year cycle, or following a complaint.

Your Students’ Union and University recommend that you rent from a Unipol Code landlord. You can check if your property is in the Code here.

When looking for next years’ accommodation you can easily search for Unipol Code landlords on our website. The adverts are displayed in the left column and Code properties are marked with either a green or blue thumbs up. Once you have viewed a Code property and are ready to sign a contract, a Unipol Code landlord must allow 24 hours for you to seek independent advice before re-marketing the property.
