My name is David Bairstow and together with my wife Margaret, own two houses in Headingley both of which we manage ouselves - much better for you than using a large and anonymous agency as, if you ever need any help or advice, you'll be able to talk direct to the owner.  

Last time our properties were let both sets of students said that they nearly didn't view them because "the price seemed too cheap for the houses to be any good".  Both houses were let on the first viewing!

We have three children, all of whom went to University, and we were apalled at the quality of accomodation offered to them.   When we decided to become landlords we were determined to ensure that renting our houses would be a happy and pleasant experience  AND at a reasonable price.

Since we started renting, some 18 years ago, we have never had any dissatisfied tenants, neither have we had any dispute whatsoever about the return of deposits.  Any problems that arise are dealt with promptly and, as a consequence, we have many letters of thanks (please see example below).  Indeed one of our properties was rented by successive student members of the same family for 5 years.

For your complete peace of mind, we fully comply with all the rules and regulations of Unipol and Leeds City Council.  As required by law all deposits are fully protected and our gas boilers have an annual gas safety check.  We do not charge any fees.
