About Us

Lingard Bell Ltd is a family business which was established in 1962 by Mr Ray Bell & Mrs June Bell (the name Lingard is Mrs Bell's maiden name).  

Steve Rowley started working full time in the business in the year 2000 and his wife (Carol Rowley who is Ray and June's daughter) gradually built up to a full time role once their children were in full time education.  Steve and Carol live locally and are readily contactable by email or telephone. Mrs June Bell had a keen interest in the business up until the time of her sudden death in October 2017 aged 84 years.  Mr Ray Bell sadly passed away on the 11th December 2018 aged 90 years after spending 5 years in care after being diagnosed with severe Alzheimers.

All our tenants are given Steve’s mobile telephone number for emergency situations.   We provide an alternative contact for holiday cover.  We are supported by a loyal team of trustworthy tradesmen and any repairs are carried out quickly and efficiently.

In 2019 we won Gold in the Unipol Garden Competition for our communal gardens on Brudenell Road.  Many of our gardens have seating areas for communal BBQs and socialising.

We are particularly proud of the Landlord awards which started in 2012 firstly by Leeds University Union where our tenants were able to nominate us if they had been happy with the service we provided. Since 2017 the Leeds University Student Union in partnership with Unipol Student Homes have been running the Rate Your Landlord website where tenants can rate their landlord on various aspects of the tenancy.   It makes us really happy to know that our hard work is appreciated by both our tenants and the organisers of the award schemes.   You can see a small selection of the many testimonials we have received on our website at www.lingardbell.co.uk

We also won the first ever Safer Leeds Award in 2013 which was awarded to us by Leeds University Union because we go far beyond the safety requirements of the Leeds City Council and Unipol Codes.  We want our tenants to feel safe living in their homes and also like parents to be happy in the knowledge that we do all we can to make this happen.

Rents

We are very flexible in our procedures for collecting rent and offer tenants the option to pay rent termly to coincide with the receipt of their student loans.

Deposits

Deposits are £200 per tenant and are registered with mydeposits (one of the Government approved schemes).

Administration/Signing Fees

You will be pleased to know that we have never charged any!  In fact, no one should now as it is illegal!
