Who we are and how we can help

25/09/2020

Unipol are a not-for-profit student housing company. Our team of housing experts provide free and impartial advice to students who are renting in the private sector.

Unipol offers various services to students to make renting easier, more affordable and safe. Below are some of the ways Unipol can help you whilst you study at University.

The Unipol Code

The Unipol Code encourages better quality in student accommodation. Landlords/housing providers can voluntarily join the Unipol Code accreditation scheme and commit to meeting higher standards.

Living in a Code home means you can expect:

•  Repairs to be carried out within an agreed timescale
• The property to be safe and well managed
•  Good customer service and a responsive landlord
•  24 hours to sign a contract on request (Landlords cannot let to others during this time)
• A proportion of each member’s properties to be checked by Unipol to ensure they meet standards
• A complaints process to help resolve any issues that may arise

Universities recommend that you rent from a Unipol Code landlord or National Code housing provider. To check your house is under the Code, click here.

When searching for your next student accommodation look out for the Unipol Code thumbs up on property adverts.

Searching for accommodation

Unipol can help you search for your next student home.

Not only do we provide our own accommodation, but we also advertise thousands of properties from other landlords on our website.

Searching for accommodation on the Unipol website is easy. There are various filters to select and it is easy to tell which landlords are accredited by the Unipol Code.

Houses for the next academic year (2021-2022) are not available on our website at the moment. Properties will be released later in the year. You can join our Priority Mailing list here to sign up for early access to next years student properties.

Signing up to the Priority mailing list will also keep you in the loop about any events we host including flat mate finding and House Hunting talks. Remember to get your contract checked before signing for a property. You can do this with Unipol or your Students Union.
