Our second session focusses on Supporting Care-leavers and Estranged Students within Student Accommodation.
In this forum, we will be discussing and getting ideas on how we can support students who have left Local Authority care or are estranged from their family.
With the average cost of living away at university being £18K a year, and student loans only being around £10K, there is an expectation for family to help fund study. When someone does not have that family to rely on, how are they able to navigate their finances to meet the costs involved?
Additionally, we will be discussing what wellbeing support they might require from accommodation providers. How can we ensure a smooth transition to university life.
This session will be an opportunity for discussion, idea-sharing and networking with other providers.
